Bernard Owl
I have thought about this for a very long time.
And decided it best to offer a rhyme.
I am an owl, my name is Bernard.
I read lots of books, some easy, some hard.
I live in the barn, high up in the roof.
If you ask me a question I will tell you the truth.
How old I am I? I hear you say.
I am as old as my eyes, to the very same day.
Emily Duck is a good friend of mine.
I pay visits to her island from time to time.
I used to explore, to wander and roam.
But now I prefer to stay comfy at home.
I fly through the air with the greatest of ease.
Sometimes I look backwards and then bump into trees.
My dream is to write the most marvelous book.
When it is finished you may all take a look.
I rather like sandwiches, cucumber the most.
I am partial to jam, on a small piece of toast.
So this is the end of my little rhyme.
Farewell and goodbye, until I see you next time.”
