Penny Pig

“Hello Boys and Girls welcome to my lovely pen. My name is Penny. I want to tell you a little bit about myself.

I love it here on Wigglebottom Farm. I live in this lovely pen by the side of the barn. I like to look out across the pond at the wonderful view. Everyone on the farm is my friend but I suppose my best friend is Delilah. She is like the big sister that I never had. Every day she comes over from the bottom meadow to see me and whenever Farmer John lets me out of my pen the first thing I do is going and visit her. She wonders around quite a lot so it is a good job she is so big otherwise it would be really hard to find her.

I haven’t always lived here on Wigglebottom Farm. I came here some time ago, I’m not really sure how long ago it was. Farmer John and the Farmer’s Wife bought me from the Wiggleton Market. I was born at the same time as my nine, yes nine, other brothers. Can you believe that! 10 little piglets and the only girls is me. My brothers are called Peter, Paul, Patrick, Percy, Philip, Perry, Paxton, Preston and Parker. My dream is that one day I will see all my brothers again.

It is really important to me to keep my pen as tidy and as clean as possible. I clean it every single day. As I am cleaning I like to sing a little song to myself. I am very good at singing. My favourite food is turnips, I just can’t get enough of them. Every day Farmer John puts a fresh pile of turnips in my trough and before you can say “Penny is a pig!” I’ve eaten them all up. I can not image that anyone would not like turnips, yummy yummy!

Anyway. That’s a little bit about me. You will find out much more in Wigglebottom Farm stories but before you go I would like to sing you a little song I made up today, while I was cleaning.”
